Viagra has somewhat become synonymous with erection pills. In today’s times, whenever and wherever anyone faces any problem with attaining and maintaining penile erections, he asks for advice on how to get an effective Viagra.

Following are the Factors that affect the Viagra Results

1. Viagra Dosage Power/Dosage Strength

The usual recommended initial dose of Viagra for treating erectile dysfunction (ED) or impotence in men, is 50 mg. However, doctors could prescribe anywhere between 25 mg to 100 mg. On the other hand, Viagra (Sildenafil) tablets for pulmonary hypertension come in 10 mg and 20 mg strengths.

2. Dosage Forms

Viagra (Sildenafil) usually comes in tablet or pill form. However, the injectable formulation of Viagra (Sildenafil) is also available; which is most likely to be used in cases of children suffering from pulmonary hypertension. The injectable form of Viagra (Sildenafil) will come with a plastic syringe or spoon, in order to offer the right amount. In case the plastic syringe or a spoon is not available with the medicine’s package, one can always buy it individually from any pharmacist.

Note: It is advisable, not to use a kitchen teaspoon as it will not measure the right amount.

3. Dosage Frequency/ Daily Intake

3.1 Viagra Dosage Frequency for PH in Adults

The usual adult dose of Viagra (Sildenafil) for treating pulmonary hypertension in adults is 20 mg taken 3 times a day.

3.2 Viagra Dosage Frequency for PH in Children, for each day

Daily doses for children may vary from 10 mg to 20 mg, which can be taken about three times a day; depending on their weight. It is not advisable to give this medicine to children more than three times a day. In case a child is taking Viagra (Sildenafil) as a liquid medication, 1 ml is usually the same as taking a 10 mg tablet, but it’s important to always check the medicine label.

3.3 Viagra Dosage Frequency for ED, for each day

Viagra is recommended to be taken only once each day. So, anyone who is planning on indulging in sexual acts more than once within a day, need not, or rather should not take more than a pill, out of curiosity. Also, if it doesn’t work on taking a single pill, one should not simply double up and take another one. Exceeding the prescribed stimulated Viagra dosage can put one’s life at risk. As Viagra can affect other parts of the body, such as the heart and lungs, it’s essential to stick to the dose and instructions that the doctor provides. In case the prescribed dose does not work, one should simply ask a doctor to make the right choice that would work for him.

4. Usage/ Consumption Instructions

Viagra needs to be taken with at least half to a full glass of plain water, and it is best if the water is at room temperature. This is because hot water can potentially dissolve the coating of Viagra tablets or pills.

Note: In case someone gets symptoms like dyspepsia or nausea, on consuming Viagra, it is best to talk to a doctor, and let him/her lower the dose of Viagra or suggest over-the-counter (OTC) products like antacids. One should never take OTC products without consulting a doctor or pharmacist. There may be interactions with other medications that the patient is already taking.

How to take Viagra – with water or milk?

There are no clinical studies to establish any adverse relationship between Viagra and milk. However, it is valid that whole milk has 8 grams of fat, and studies have proven that high-fat meals can cause an upset stomach and slow down the absorption rate of Viagra.

Certain fruit juices can interact with medications and increase or decrease their effects. Speaking of which, Viagra may interact with certain fruit juices like grapefruit and even pomegranate juice if taken together. The effect of taking Viagra with juice depends on the amount of juice taken, the dose power of the medication, and also individual metabolic factors, or how the body reacts to these two together.

Additional Precautions

Taking Viagra with a heavy or high-fat meal can slow the time taken by Viagra to come into effect, by about an hour. High-fat content foods also increase the risk of stomach upset. A full stomach may also make sexual activity uncomfortable. One may take Viagra an hour before sexual activity either on an empty stomach or with a light meal, in order to avoid delayed absorption of the medication.
